Ali’s New Bike

A1Daily Life
Ali's New Bike

Ali gets a new red bike. He wants to ride to the park. But bikes are not easy. Can Ali do it?

It is Ali’s birthday. He gets a new bike. It is red, with a silver bell.

“Wow!” Ali says. “It’s beautiful!”

“Do you like it?” Mom asks.

“I love it!” Ali says. “Can I ride it now?”

“Yes,” Mom says. “Let’s go to the park.”

Ali puts on his helmet. He holds the bike. He is very excited.

At the park, the sky is blue. Birds sing in the trees. Other kids ride their bikes too.

Ali gets on his bike. He pushes the pedals. The bike moves! Ali smiles big.

“Look at me!” he shouts.

But then the bike goes too fast. Ali is scared.

“Help!” he shouts.

The bike stops. Ali falls down. His knee hurts. He is not happy now.

“Are you okay?” Mom asks.

“I don’t want to ride,” Ali says. “It’s too hard.”

Mom sits next to Ali. “It’s okay to fall,” she says. “Everyone falls first. Try again. I will help you.”

Ali looks at his bike. He thinks about it.

“Okay,” he says. “Can you hold it?”

“Yes, I can,” Mom says. “I will hold the bike. You just pedal.”

Ali gets back on the bike. Mom holds it carefully. Ali pedals slowly.

“Good job!” Mom says. “Now faster!”

Ali pedals faster and faster. Mom lets go, just a little.

Ali doesn’t fall! He rides across the park, past the trees, past the other kids.

“I’m doing it! I’m doing it!” Ali shouts.

Mom claps. “You did it, Ali!” she says.

Ali stops the bike. He is very happy now. His face is red, but he is smiling.

“Can we come back tomorrow?” he asks.

“Yes,” Mom says. “Every day, if you want.”

Ali smiles at his new bike. He is not scared anymore. He loves riding it.
